Nagasaki Prefecture to access trio of potential casino license race runners

In Japan and a local consortium known as The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group has reportedly confirmed that it has lodged an official bid for the right to build and run the integrated casino resort being planned for Nagasaki Prefecture.

According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the Tokyo-headquartered entity is a joint enterprise of Asian construction giant The Hong Kong Parkview Group Limited and Japanese hotel operator The Niki Company Limited and it is now hoping that its proposal will be enough to see it selected as the Kyushu jurisdiction’s preferred operating partner.

Suggested scheme:

Nagasaki Prefecture is home to approximately 1.3 million people and it is reportedly eager to win one of Japan’s coming trio of 40-year casino licenses so as to be able to bring a Las Vegas-style facility to a 74-acre plot of land located next to its Huis Ten Bosch theme park. However, the source detailed that the jurisdiction is first being required to partner with an experienced foreign operator before submitting its final plans to a panel of federal selectors ahead of an April of 2022 deadline.

Tester trio:

As part of this process and Nagasaki Prefecture is to now reportedly begin accessing the official bid from The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group alongside rival tenders from European gambling giant Casinos Austria International and another consortium being fronted by Oshidori International Holdings Limited. The southern community then purportedly intends to select its final preferred operating partner sometime in August before handing over its formal casino license proposition to officials in Tokyo.

Impressive intention:

Although The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group has reportedly yet to reveal who it would get to run the gambling element of its envisioned integrated casino resort for Nagasaki Prefecture, the enterprise did explain that it would like the project to aid regional revitalization and serve as the centerpiece for a ‘super smart community’ overlooking Omura Bay that made ‘full use of cutting-edge technology.’

Allied accomplices:

Etsuko Oishi serves as the Executive Vice-President for The Niki Company Limited and he reportedly proclaimed that the plan from The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group would see ‘a world-class integrated resort’ come to Nagasaki Prefecture. The executive purportedly furthermore asserted that numerous other parties would be involved in the project including ‘a large number of world-leading overseas partners’ as well as ‘companies from various countries alongside local Kyushu companies.’

Reportedly read a statement from Oishi…

“We intend to attract premium tourists to Kyushu so as to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and become a major integrated casino resort in Asia. We look forward to working with local communities and local governments in the process to bring a world-leading facility to the region.”
